2015 European School Chess Championship has started with the opening ceremony on 25th June 2015.

In the tournament where the symbolic opening move was implemented   with the participations of The President of  Turkish Chess Federation, Gülkız Tulay,  Alexander Kotsyev, The President of the International School Chess Union, The Provincial Director of Youth Affairs and Sports Ömer Ersöz, The Deputy Rector of Konya Selçuk University  Prof. Dr. Musa Özcan, The Dean of Konya Selçuk University Faculty of Sports , Prof. Dr. Nizamettin Çiftçi, One of the first businesswomen of Turkey, Birten Gökyay, The department manager of Konya Cultural Directorate,  The Deputy Presidents of Turkish Chess Federation  Aşkın Keleş and Prof. Dr. Yusuf Doğruer,The member of Turkish Board Nihal Duman and The Local Chess Representative of Konya Hasan Onat ; 666 players from 12 different countries will be struggling through 9 days.

Alexander Kotsyev, The President of the International School Chess Union, had a brief speech stating that he would like to appreciate the TCF for the intensive interests of players to the organisation and the tournament.

The President of  Turkish Chess Federation, Gülkız TULAY has stated that  It was an honor and fulfilment for our Federation to be hosting an international event for 9 days. I do all wish luck to all the participants to struggle in this torunament where peace, galantry and friendship will meet all together.

The first round of 2015 ESCC has started with the symbolic opening move after the speeches.

2015 Avrupa Okullar Satranç Şampiyonası 25 Haziran 2015 tarihinde gerçekleşen açılış töreni ile başladı.

Türkiye Satranç Federasyonu Başkanı Gülkız Tulay, Uluslararası Okulda Satranç Birliği Başkanı Alexander Kostyev,  Konya Gençlik Hizmetleri ve Spor İl Müdürü Ömer Ersöz, Konya Selçuk Üniversitesi Rektör Vekili Prof. Dr. Musa Özcan, Konya Selçuk Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi Dekanı  Prof. Dr. Nizamettin Çiftçi, Türkiye'nin ilk kadın sanayicilerinden Birten Gökyay, Konya İl Kültür Müdürlüğü Şube Müdürü Vekili, Türkiye Satranç Federasyonu Başkan Vekilleri Aşkın Keleş ve Prof. Dr. Yusuf Doğruer, Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi Nihal Duman ve Konya İl Temsilcisi Hasan Onat’ın katılımlarıyla sembolik açılış hamleleri gerçekleştirilen şampiyonada, 12 ülkeden toplam 666 sporcu mücadele edecek.

Törende konuşma yapan Uluslararası Satranç Birliği Başkanı Alexander Kostyev, şampiyona organizasyonu ve sporcuların gösterdiği yoğun ilgi dolayısıyla Türkiye Satranç Federasyonunu tebrik ederek, emeği geçen herkese teşekkürlerini sundu.

Kostyev’in ardından konuşmalarını yapan Federasyon Başkanı Gülkız Tulay, “9 gün sürecek ve uluslararası çapta yapılacak böylesine önemli bir şampiyonanın ülkemizde gerçekleşmesi, Türk satrancı adına büyük bir mutluluk ve gurur vesilesidir. Barışı, centilmenliği, mücadeleyi ve dostluğu bir potada buluşturacak şampiyonamızda mücadele edecek tüm sporcularımıza başarılar diliyorum.” dedi.

2015 Avrupa Okullar Satranç Şampiyonası 1. turu, açılış konuşmalarından sonra yapılan sembolik açılış hamlelerinin ardından başladı.
